The countdown to London Fashion Week is on, and with the capital already having had a prestigious season, we are certain the designers set to showcase over the long weekend will continue, if not exceed, the summer standard.
At AYA we are always keen to follow and support the latest emerging designers, as well as the more established, and we are not the only ones.
NEWGEN is an initiative created to encourage and mentor new talent. With the offer of sponsorship courtesy of Topshop and a space to show at Somerset House, it provides funding and a platform to specially selected designers.
Since its birth in 1993 NEWGEN, created by the British Fashion Council, has sourced and propelled designers including Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane and Meadham Kirchhoff and this year is no different. Showing at this September’s LFW are JW Anderson, Michael van der Ham and Simone Rocha.
With JW Anderson creating to sharpen a woman’s silhouette, Michael van der Ham working with an array of elaborate textiles and Rocha opposing the
two with a focus on soft femininity, each show is bound to inspire and excite thanks to months of hard work.
Good luck to all showing.
