After graduating with an incredibly successful first collection, Holly Russell is back and has just unveiled her MA work. Holly’s first collection, worn by the likes of Gaga and Alice Dellal propelled her from a fashion degree at Manchester Met University, into the limelight and under the wing of Gareth Pugh. She has now completed her MA at the Royal College of Art and the images of her highly anticipated final pieces have gone viral. Focusing her first collection on the natural world, working with scientists to create a galaxy print and playing with beetle wings and human hair, her MA pieces are more defined but a definite continuation. With metallic trousers and leather, the space age feel has remained but matured with sharper lines and exaggerated silhouettes. Aspiring to create her own established label, she admits her designs aren’t always realistic but we amongst many praise her for her futuristic aesthetic.
